Are FFP2 masks washable?
Despite being a DPI that has become part of our everyday life, the FFP2 mask is still the subject of controversy and debate, especially about its re-use.
How do we know if our FFP2 masks are washable?
The masks with filter FFP1/FFP2/FFP3 are personal protection devices, divided into two categories:
- Disposable, detectable thanks to the indication NR – Not Reusable;
- Reusable, identified by the letter R.
FFP2 NR masks offer protection from contamination for a time of 6/8 hours of continuous use, which is completed, to be disposed of in the correct way.
Reusable masks, on the other hand, can be sanitized by replacing filters or using specific products indicated by the respective manufacturer.
Our +Strong FFP2 to what category do they belong?
As reported in the Technical Data Sheet of the device, the +Forti FFP2, are semimasks filtering disposable type FFP2 NR. This implies the impossibility of reusing the mask beyond the working day.
When choosing the most suitable PPE for you, it is important to choose a product approved and in compliance. Always check that it has the necessary certifications and technical descriptions, including its reuse (R) or not (NR). We also advise you to carry out specific checks to ensure that the FFP2 is certified by an Accredited Body, present on the Nando List.
iVision Health has always been committed to offering a safe product, thanks to the daily checks of the production process.
