certificazione-ffp2

FFP2 masks have been at the center of many debates for a few weeks. Non-compliant products, with parameters not suitable for category III or even with false certifications, have recently been confiscated.

FFP2 masks: certificate validity

FFP2 masks are identified as such, following specific analyzes that must necessarily be carried out by a notified body.

Can a private individual verify the validity of the certification? Absolutely yes! Since we strongly believe that it is necessary to inform the consumer for an informed purchase, we wanted to guide you in checking.

FFP2 masks: guide to evaluate a certificate

Step 1: product certification

On the website of the various PPE manufacturers, it is possible to find the certification of the FFP2 masks, on which the identification number of the certificate, the name of the notified body and the manufacturer are reported.

Certification: Notified body, FFP2 mask manufacturer, reference number

Step 2: Identify the Notified Body Number

Also within the certificate, it is possible to identify a 4-digit number, the Notified Body Number (NB) identifying the body that carried out the analyzes and issued the document. The same code must be compulsorily reported in the marking of the mask.

Step 3: check the presence of the institution on the NANDO list

By accessing the website of the European Commission, it is possible to check via the Notified Body Number if the institution is accredited. The presence in the NANDO list certifies its validity.

Step 4: Search for the certificate on the Body’s website

Many Notified Bodies allow you to search for the certificate to confirm that the certification is valid. The tracking number refers to the identification number of the document.

Certified search on the Accredited Laboratory website

If the certificate was issued by the institution in question and is valid, the user will find confirmation in the search.

Generally, Notified Bodies give the user the possibility to carry out the research (eg MNA, the laboratory chosen by iVision Health); otherwise, it is the consumer’s right to contact the reference laboratory and request confirmation of the validity of the document.
